Each year Executive Grapevine holds an event bringing together inspirational HR speakers from impressive brands.
This year they highlighted such brands as Monzo, Just-Eat and John Lewis. Hosting up to 400 delegates from various roles within the HR sector, which would be given the opportunity to gain insight from speakers and their peers. The event consisted of a day of presentations, breakout sessions and networking, all of which would be branded among
HR Grapevine and event sponsors.

During my time at Executive Grapevine, I had the pleasure of working with
the team and then later leading the design on 5 years of these events.
Below is a brief overview of the process for the branding of their 2020
event and a collection of project materials created for that same event.

The title for the 2020 event was,

The People Revolution
Empowering People to Drive Change and Purpose
Once given the brief, I then set about capturing as many creatively inspiring images as I could. Pink and blue were the theme colours, focusing around Disney's Tron as a reference.
The final mood board here is the theme I took forward to the CEO and MD as a presentation piece to explain my thought process, which I had successful buy-in on. I then began the process of organising what would be needed to start the promotion of the event, outlining a list of banners and social elements with the marketing team.
After trawling through Google Fonts to find something that captured the idea behind the title and theme of the event, I had settled on Major Mono Display.  For me this font perfectly suited what we were after with the title and theme of 'Digital Revolution'. A font that screamed digital and had an interesting quirk with its array of alternate characters.

To accompany this stand out font I chose Roboto, but specifically 'Light'.

Roboto has a good range of font weights to vary how it is displayed and how it can marry to other fonts, however for this instance I wanted it to compliment Major Mono, so keeping it on the lighter side would make sure that it didn't draw the eye from the hero font.
While gathering images for the mood boards I had stumbled upon the images of these digital
polygonal fists via Shutterstock. To me this perfectly captured the 'Revolution' visually for this event.

The initial plan for the opening video was to have the hand develop into the coloured polygonal
fist, but for the time being we would use that one for all branding and promotion of the event.

Working with my team, I instructed them on relevant sections regarding the speaker appearance and presentation, while I focused on the main part of the opening. We were able to produce an opening video which I feel captured the message of the event as well as the theme, but with a very professional style.
The video was created in After Effects with Trapcode Particular and the addition of stock video to create the glitch, Tron effects.
Each year there is a growing collection of event material that is produced for the delegates which attend, this ranges from branded and sponsored water bottles, a brochure of the event, to a fully printed delegate bag. While working on this event
I designed each part of these assets, keeping them within the theme that was set.

The cover design for this 2020 event had a spot UV coating over the fist and the title. Resulting in a dynamic polygon effect, that gave the matt cover a pop, bringing it to life.

During the lead up to the event I was dealing with the printing process with the local printing company we used. Making sure to achieve the best result for our product, which would be presented to a couple hundred people.

attendees, speakers, sponsors for the following year.
